Visiting Maine to celebrate my 70th birthday, I decided to contact Skydive Coastal Maine. I thought I’d be leaving a message, as it was after routine business hours! Imagine my surprise when Rich answered the phone! Filled with hesitations and reservations, Rich was amazing! He was so calm and collected, so kind, and he put no pressure on me! He just offered encouragement and reassurance! By the time we said goodbye, I had a reservation - without a deposit! My tandem jump with Rich was life altering! Rich and his partner Nick are competent, professional, kind and incredibly supportive! I felt thrilled, safe and excited from the moment I arrived! And that was because of the vibe created by Rich and Nick! The ride up was really cool because there was so much beauty to see. Before you know it, the door is open and you’re flying! I loved flying! The world looks and feels brilliant! The free fall: Trust me there is nothing like it! Enjoy it to the fullest! You will want more and more of that free as hell feeling! Truly one of the most exhilarating things I’ve ever done and I’ve done a lot of stuff! Rich and Nick! Thanks! The afterglow of that adrenaline rush remain in my spirit, uplifting me everyday! Skydiving has always been on my bucket list, so a friend of mine said let’s do it! Having NEVER even flown on a plane before let alone jump from it... read more I was beyond scared and almost backed out. But I knew I had to do this! When I arrived Rich and Nick were beyond professional they know their stuff! They answered all my questions(some were crazy!) showed me all the equipment, chute pack, harness etc. they really put my mind at ease and made me feel so comfortable and safe! To them you are not just a number or a next please, you are a person and they treat you as such. It was by far the scariest, yet thrilling, exhilarating thing I have EVER done! I always said I was going to be a one and done just to say I did it person, however I’m now figuring out when I’m going to plan my next jump! Would HIGHLY recommend that anyone who wants to take “the leap” for the first time comes to this place! They are simply amazing! So glad I did it!

It was too cloudy to see Boston but the view of the white mountains and the Atlantic were amazing. Nick was great! He and I both saw the optical phenomenon “glory” rainbow during free fall due to the oncoming overcast and although that was unplanned it was just amazing to witness. I’d recommend jumping here in a heartbeat, such a humbling experience and the guides made it that much better. Thanks Nick! And thanks Rich!

Not only were the views breathtaking, but both Rich and Nick were amazing.  They explained step by step what to expect, why they harnessed you the way they did, and made sure that you were 100% comfortable with each step.  They pointed out things like the pier, and Portland while we were in the sky.
